I would like to apologize for forgetting to get student volunteer writers for our Friday reports the last couple of Fridays in December. It sure was a busy and fun month I am hoping to get that started again for the New Year as I really enjoy hearing from the students how their days are going.
I am hoping all of you are having an incredible, restful time away from the business of school. Looking forward to seeing you on the second Friday of next year!

Friday Report by Sami A.
Today our class started with Aboriginal Education in the computer lab. We learned about button blankets and other things, then we went to the Library for time with Mr. Lussier. He read a book called "The Chronicles of Latemier Todd" After Library we did H.C.E. We took a quiz about Web Awareness. During Math we made and played a game called "All the Sticks". After lunch we started a poster for H.C.E. about the benefits of living a healthy life. We took a break outside and played Football and 4 Square. When we came inside we did some reading and then it was time for home. It was a very productive and fun day.

Friday Report by Sasha K.
"Today was awesome! Tonnes of energy and fun! We played some sort of made-up football game, just throwing the ball around to each other. Being outside was really fun! I'd love to go outside more! Friday is always a fun day because it is the last day of school for the week! Mrs. Rempel does the best art projects. It's always tonnes of fun with Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Rempel. I'm very happy with my school year so far and hope for more fun days!"

Unveiling!
So if all goes as planned, I will be introducing you to this new blog tomorrow. Please realize that I am venturing into new territory by creating and updating this blog for our class. I would appreciate constructive feedback from you, my students and your parents. I hope this is helpful to you, to improve communication about assignments that are due, and that it will be fun too! Please check out the links on the left to some really cool art sites. See you tomorrow!

The Importance of Teaching Art...
A great video about why I love teaching kids art. A favourite quote at the end is, "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." Pablo Picasso

Welcome!!!
Mrs. Rempel is having a great time with Mr. Cotter on this October Professional Development Day learning about how we can use technology to improve our communication. My hope is that this site will help the students and their parents keep track of what is happening on Fridays. Please feel free to contact me about how this is working for you and how it might be improved. Hope everyone had a great Friday break from school! See you next week!
